Launer

Launer has kept to British manufacturing for more than fifty years. In 1981 Gerald Bodmer rescued the company, and it held on to its factory in Walsall, in the West Midlands, where Launer's atelier still is today. The factory is an Edwardian building that was once used for making leather bridles, and Launer makes every one of its handbags, purses and wallets there. Each piece is put together by one craftsperson, its edges are turned, and everything is inspected before it leaves the factory. Launer runs apprenticeships, and many of its craftspeople have been there for years.
