LANX

LANX dates its beginning to 26 July 2016, when a letter prompted its founder, Marv, to spend six months looking at shoemaking across 10 countries. His grandfather Alberto moved to Lancashire from Italy after the war, and from 1971 Marv's grandparents made furniture in their garden shed, where Marv helped in the school holidays. Back in March 2017, Marv began making his own footwear. LANX went live in May 2018, and he sold it from market stalls around north-west England until 2020. LANX is based in Whalley in the Ribble Valley, where it has its own factory, and works with partner factories in the UK and overseas. It also has a shop in Manchester's Northern Quarter.
