A Tusting craftsperson hand-stitching a leather handbag in the workshop

Tusting is a family leather business, now in its fifth generation. In the late 1980s the family began making finished leather goods of its own, and today every piece comes out of its workshop at the Tannery Warehouse on Olney Road, Lavendon, a couple of miles from the original tannery, close to where Buckinghamshire meets Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire. Rather than buying in from outside suppliers, Tusting's own team handles each stage: pattern-making, cutting by hand and machine, sewing, painting the edges and a final check. Artisans work in pairs, and sewers finish every bag by hand. If something is out of stock, they'll make it for you, and they'll repair pieces where they can.

The leather goods

Tusting's leather bags are shown here, from a top-handle handbag and a briefcase in bridle or waxed leather to a backpack, along with a card holder lined in microsuede.

Where they're made

Lavendon, Buckinghamshire

Made in Britain at Tusting's own workshop in Lavendon, Buckinghamshire. Tusting says every piece it sells is made there, from cutting to hand finishing.

Made in Britain — how we know

In October 2026 we read Tusting's own website: its homepage, heritage, making and 'Tusting difference' pages all say everything is made in-house, and the heritage page places the workshop in Lavendon. The page for each piece shown here says it is handcrafted in that Buckinghamshire workshop.
