Netherton Foundry is a South Shropshire business that recently moved its workshops to Newhouse Farm in Cleobury Mortimer, about five miles from its original site. Its pans are made by hand from 99.1% pure iron, and spinning lets the black iron be thinner than it would be if cast. Most of the work happens in-house: spinning the pan bodies, making and riveting the handles, seasoning the surfaces, and making and branding oak handle covers. Copper pans are spun there too, with tin linings wiped on by hand. The company aims to work with local suppliers; its handle rivets are made in the Midlands and annealed in the Black Country. It also offers a paid re-seasoning service.
