Taylor's Eye Witness
Taylor's Eye Witness traces its story to 1820, when John Taylor set up a small pocketknife and edge-tool workshop in the heart of Sheffield. In 1838 he was granted the 'Eye Witness' mark, an all-seeing eye that still gives the firm its name. For well over a century the business worked from a large factory on Milton Street, and after a takeover in 1975 it was renamed Taylor's Eye Witness. In 2018 it moved to larger, newly equipped premises just outside the city centre, and today it is owned by its employees.
