Noble & Wylie

The Noble & Wylie shopfront in Sheffield, with handmade shoes on wooden crates in the window and the name on the door

Noble & Wylie is a small shoemaking workshop in Sheffield, run by Kenneth. He began in 2016 working alongside an established Sheffield shoemaker, and a year later took over the workshop itself, which has close to 50 years of history behind it. Over that time, customers have brought their shoes back to be resoled there. Every pair is made to order, in leather or vegan leather, and one person sees each one through from start to finish. In May 2026 Sheffield Museums featured the workshop in a Sheffield Makes film, following Kenneth from cutting to finishing on sewing machines more than a century old.
