Mackintosh

Mackintosh makes its rubberised coats from bonded cotton, using a technique that dates back to the 19th century. Each coat shown here is listed as handmade in Scotland on its own product page, and the brand says these coats are made entirely by hand in its own factory. Each coat stays with a single maker from start to finish. Seams are cut, glued with a rubber solution and taped, all by hand. Mackintosh says only a very limited number of garments leave the factory each year. Not everything with the Mackintosh name comes from that factory: some of its coats and jackets are made in Japan.
Clothing
Rubberised bonded-cotton coats with detachable linings: the men's mid-length Dunoon, the women's three-quarter-length Banton, and the Claigan fishtail parka with its Harris Tweed liner. Each one's own product page says it is handmade in Scotland.
Made in Britain applies to the coats shown here only. Some other Mackintosh coats and jackets are made in Japan.
