Hiut Denim

Rows of industrial sewing machines and wooden work benches in the Hiut Denim factory, with the Hiut logo on a timber wall at the far end

Cardigan, or Aberteifi, is a town in West Wales where jeans had been made until production left in 2002. Hiut Denim began in 2011 to bring it back. It has its own factory in the town it calls home, where every pair is cut and sewn by hand and signed by the person who made it. Stock jeans are made in small batches and sent out straight away; a made-to-order pair goes into production once the order is placed. The denim itself is woven elsewhere, by Kuroki in Japan, Candiani in Italy and others.

Clothing

Shown here are Hiut's own jeans, made in its Cardigan factory, in men's straight and tapered fits and women's slim and barrel fits. The selvedge pairs are cut from denim woven in Japan, and the organic pair from denim woven in Turkey.

Only Hiut's own jeans are shown here. Its Hiut x Lavenham gilets are made elsewhere, and other things it sells may be too.
